Airliners are large aircraft designed to carry luggage and passengers over long distances. Unlike multi-purpose transport aircraft, they have separate sectors for cargo and people or no additional compartment for shipment at all.
The very first passenger aircraft was the Blériot XXIV in 1911, produced by a French manufacturer. Since then, this line has undergone many changes and upgrades, in line with global innovations and standards. As a result, a typical modern airliner in terms of fuel consumption is on par with other models of 1950, and there is a tendency to reduce consumption due to new designs.

As to the flight range, one can distinguish long-range airliners, which can fly more than 3728 mi, then medium-range aircraft within the scope of 1553 mi to 3728 mi, and short-range airliners up to 1553 mi. Also, by fuselage design, there are wide and narrow fuselages. The first are record-breakers in terms of size among passenger planes. These include the Boeing 747, A330, and A340, and they do an excellent job of carrying many passengers in reasonably comfortable conditions. On the other hand, the second type, narrow-body, is used much less frequently, at medium and short distances with a small number of passengers.
The largest manufacturers are Airbus, ATR, Saab AB, Embraer, Boeing, and Bombardier.
