The Falcon 10 has been an essential member in the business aviation market for more than 50 years and is an executive jet from the French aircraft manufacturing company Dassault Aviation. It made its maiden flight in late 1970 and has since received flight certification and improved performance.

The Falcon 10 is a scaled-down, faster version of the Falcon 20, with a smaller wing fitted with full-span slats for short-field performance. It is powered by two Garrett (now Honeywell) TFE731-2 turbofan engines, which give it a long range for a light jet and allow customers chartering a Falcon 10 to cover long distances in the shortest possible time. A typical avionics system consists of two Collins VHF20A communication modules, an autopilot, and a weather radar.
The Falcon 10 is ideal for private flights. The cabin is designed for a high comfort level, accommodates five to six passengers, has a large luggage compartment and communication systems.
On charter the Falcon 10 is one of the fastest light jets ever built — Mach 0.87 — and its slats let it use short runways that newer light jets avoid, so it is still a useful quote for four to six passengers on two- to three-hour sectors into airports such as Aspen, Nantucket or the Bahamas out-islands. Production ended in 1989 and the fleet is ageing, so operators with a Falcon 10 on certificate are few; when none is available, the Citation CJ3+, Phenom 300 or Learjet 75 are the usual modern substitutes.
