Santa Cruz Private Jet and Air Charter Flights

Monarch Air Group offers private jet charter services to and from Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

Santa Cruz is the largest city in Bolivia, the center of the eastern part of the country and the administrative center of the department of the same name. In terms of population (approximately 1.6 million people), the city is far ahead of the constitutional and de facto capital of Bolivia, Sucre. Since the middle of the 20th century, the city began a period of economic growth that continues to this day. The construction of an airport, the improvement of transportation routes, and an inexhaustible influx of immigrants have all turned the city into an important, industrial and commercial center of the country. Thanks to its mild foothill climate and many colonial-era artifacts, the metropolis is a major tourist destination.

Santa Cruz is very different from other famous Bolivian cities. Located on the hot plains, it is not very rich in interesting architectural sights. One or two days will be enough to wander around the historic center, taste the Bolivian cuisine and visit the local museums. One of the city’s main attractions is the central 24th of September Square. Traffic is prohibited near the square, so compared to the rest of the bustling city, it is an oasis of tranquility.

One of the main attractions of the plaza is the principal cathedral, the Basilica Menor de San Lorenzo. The visitors can climb the beautiful bell towers with ancient mechanical clocks to admire the panorama of the metropolis. Inside the basilica is the Museo de Arte Sagrado (Museum of Sacred Art), with its interesting collection of icons. A popular tourist attraction, Parque El Arenal houses the Museo Etnofolklórico, which displays small collections of musical instruments, baskets, and other interesting artistic crafts from the indigenous cultures of the Bolivian plains. There is also the Amboro National Park (Parque National de Amboro), which extends into an area of unspoiled nature.

The city has been served by Viru Viru International Airport (VVI, /SLVR) for many years. It is a large and modern transportation hub that serves about a million people a year.
